Franz Schubert Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D.759 (“Unfinished”)
Oh, if only we had a chance to have a peep at Schubert’s apartment with his famous candle-light, wine and music night parties attended by the most buoyant Viennese people of the time – with one of the guests playing the enigmatic instrument arpeggione, while another one impersonating a street organ player... And there he is – a slight, bespectacled man whose mind is crammed with brilliant ideas and the ideas are bound to outlive the man himself, and a world-famous violist, named Maxim, mixes Schubert’s ideas with modern scores. In that very moment all of us, my dear friends, realize we are bound to leave for home so uplifted.
