Contemporary chamber opera "Time Present" is synthesis of visual art, theater and music. Only two exclusive performances will be shown in Hanzas Perons venue in the middle of August.
“Time Present” is created by visual artists Krista and Reinis Dzudzilo together with composer Krists Auznieks – all internationally recognized artists in visual art and music.
"Time Present" is made up of four scenes, measuring the path from silence to the birth of the opera. At the heart of the new work is the idea of time and its simultaneity, of the expansion of time on both sides, suggesting an equal future and past. For the unity of everything and man as an eternal traveler seeking enlightenment, including waiting as an important part of the journey.
The contemporary opera was created under the influence of Kristi Auznieks' Grand Music Award-winning composition "Fire and Rose". The composition has also become part of “Time Present”, but the culmination of the new production is Auznieks' new work "Ir Viens", which will be premiered by the Sinfonietta Rīga and orchestra’s artistic leader Normunds Šnē together with soloist, countertenor Jānis Šipkēvics, who is also known as member of the group "Instrumenti".
The joint work of Dzudzilo couple and Krists Auznieks is created in collaboration with choreographer Elīna Gediņa and performers - Rūdolfs Gediņš and Ģirts Bisenieks, as well as light artist Oskars Pauliņš and video operator Tomass Zeļģis.
"Time Present" is being created within the series of contemporary performing arts events “Pārmijas” in cooperation with the cultural site “Hanzas Perons” and will be seen in Riga for only two days - on August 14 and 15 at 19.00.
