Vita Rozēna-Gaļicka

Flute

Flutist Vita Rozēna-Gaļicka has graduated Emīls Dārziņš music college in the flute class of Silva Krašauska-Krauze. Later she graduated from the Music Academy of Latvia under the guidance of flute professor Ilona Meija, but her master's studies under the guidance of professor emeritus Vilnis Strautiņš. Her second master degree, also in Music Academy in Latvia, she achieved in the chamber ensemble studies with prof. Aldis Liepiņš. Vita supplemented her education in ERASMUS studies in Italy with Professor Daniela Troiani, in Luxemburg with Carlo Jan and in summer master classes in Vienna, as well as in countless master classes both in Latvia and in other countries. As member of various ensembles and orchestras, Vita has given concerts in England, Ireland, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Croatia, Lithuania, Turkey and many Halls in Latvia. She collaborated with Latvian State concert agency “Latvijas Koncerti” as part of the cycle "Patiešām maziņiem", as well as played solo with several orchestras.

Vita won the finalist diploma and the audience award at the 6th Andrejs Jurjāns International Wind Instrumentalist Competition in Riga. Vita has played several times with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, and with the Latvian National Opera and Ballet Orchestra.

For several years she was the second concertmaster of the flute group of the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra and still holds the position of second concertmaster of the RĪGA orchestra.

Since 2022 Vita is the principal flute of Sinfonietta Riga.
