Sinfonietta Rīga opens its new concert season

On the night of September 22, Sinfonietta Rīga 12th concert season was opened at the Great Guild Hall with a rich and emotionally saturated concert programme. As expected, majority of the new season's concerts will take place at the Great Guild Hall, but the orchestra will perform also at other concert halls in Latvia and abroad. Sinfonietta Rīga concerts this season will be embellished by several internationally highly acclaimed musicians.

From Paris to Euphoria. Sinfonietta Rīga season opening

On Friday, September 22, chamber orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga will open its 12th season at the Great Guild Hall. Conductor Normunds Šnē will lead the performance of one of the most magnificent examples of the concerto genre in the history of music – Felix Mendelssohn's vibrant Violin Concerto; and, together with our everlasting favourite, Austrian genius Joseph Haydn, we will bring the enchanted audience to the city of eternal love, with his Paris Symphony. Finally, a special gift for the Sinfonietta Rīga season opening from the brilliant Latvian composer Andris Dzenītis in the form of his latest composition "Euphoria".

Orchestra

Since the foundation of the orchestra in 2006, Normunds Šnē is its Artistic Director and Chief Conductor. The musicians of Sinfonietta Rīga are young and open to creative challenge – studying the traditions of Baroque music performance and the nuances of the interpretation of Classical music; they are brilliant performers of the contemporary music.
