Sunny Andalusian landscapes and the dazzling fire of flamenco come to life in the intimate soundscapes of Jacques Ibert. Maurice Ravel also looked for inspiration in the diverse culture of Spain, but his 'Pavane for A Dead Princess' is undoubtedly inspired by the nobility and longing of the French Baroque. André Jolivet takes one more step closer to the original core of music, expanding the search for the soundscape's archetypal meaning in his 'Petite Suite', while the palette of Claude Debussy interacts both with the brightest shimmer of counter-colors and earthy tones. In the heat of World War I, armed with the clarity of classical lines, he completed the Sonata for Flute, Viola and Harp and declared: 'New beauty should fill the air when the cannons fall silent'.
The harmony of the most beautiful timbres of French composers’ chamber music will be enlivened by the flutist Anete Toča, violist Artūrs Gailis and harpist Ieva Šablovska.
