Concert Hall "Latvija" in cooperation with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Latvian Radio 3 "Klasika" will participate in Euroradio's Christmas Day, which will be celebrated this year on the Fourth Advent, and concert listeners will have the opportunity to experience this unique event in person. Euroradio's Christmas concert will be broadcast in several member states of the European Broadcasting Union through the live broadcast of Latvian Radio 3 "Klasika". Since 1995, Euroradio Christmas Music Day has been one of the most beautiful events of the year in Euroradio's seasonal offer - the live broadcasts of these concerts have a very wide audience in Europe, North America and elsewhere.
Joy of discovery and perpetual reaching for new horizons are the traits that best describe the Grammy-winning State Chamber Orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga. Since its foundation in 2006, the orchestra's artistic director and chief conductor has been Normunds Šnē. Sinfonietta Rīga musicians are accomplished, erudite and bursting with creativity. They are assiduous students of the musical heritage of Baroque era and the First and Second Viennese School, as well as eager presenters of the musical phenomena and styles of the 20th century, while continuing to look for the brightest revelations in contemporary music scene. In this concert, organist Liene Andreta Kalnciema and pianist Daumants Liepiņš will join the orchestra.
Liene Andreta Kalnciema is one of the brightest and most actively performing Latvian organists of her generation, who has won international recognition.
Daumants Liepiņš is the rising star of the piano music. In 2017, he received the Grand Music Award of Latvia in the category "Young Artist of the Year", he also gained wide international recognition by winning several prestigious competitions. Alongside to recitals in various parts of the world, he has performed with the most visible orchestras in Great Britain, Denmark, Romania, Georgia, Spain and Latvia.
