The acoustic and visual impulses of the closing concert of the Liepaja Art Forum were fused into an incredibly dense plasma of sensual impulses, and whoever visited the "Lielais dzintars" concert hall on the evening of October 2nd can feel chosen!

The performance of the video opera "An Index of Metals" by the titular Italian composer Fausto Romitelli, the last work of his life, in Latvia is undoubtedly an artistic event of the decade, and there are not too many hopes to experience it again in our latitudes in the near future. Romitelli says of his opus: "Metal Index aims to transform the traditional form of opera into a total perceptive experience, immersing the listener in a flaming substance, simultaneously shining and sounding, in a magma of flowing sounds, shapes and colors that are devoid of verbal content, but hypnotic, obsessive and trance-like. rousing." Fausto Romitelli's video opera for soprano and eleven tuned instruments had its premiere on October 3, 2003 (so exactly 20 years ago) as part of the Voix Nouvelles festival. Performed by Sinfonietta Rīga, Conductor Normunds Šnē and Polish soprano Joanna Freszel this masterpiece of art finally is heard in Latvia too!
