Sinfonietta Riga will give a concert in the world-famous Elbphilharmonie
On Sunday, October 27, as part of the TONALi festival, the State Chamber Orchestra "Sinfonietta Rīga" will perform in one of Europe's most prestigious concert halls - The Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. The youngest generation German cellist Friedrich Thiele will play with the orchestra, and the internationally renowned Latvian conductor Aivis Greters will be at the conductor's desk, playing the Latvian composer Maija Einfelde's composition "Un pār visu spīd saule trejkrāsaina...", as well as the Viennese classic, Jozef Haydn. Concerto for cello and orchestra.
For the second time during its existence, "Sinfonietta Rīga" will take the stage of Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie. Previously, in February 2017, together with the Latvian Radio Choir under the leadership of conductor Sigvards Kļava, the orchestra performed at the opening concert of the "Lux Aeterna" festival in the excellent concert hall. "Sinfonietta Rīga" will return to the Elbphilharmonie in a completely different capacity on the last weekend of October.
The content of the October 27 concert program consists of one of the hallmarks of the chamber orchestra - the 104th symphony of the Viennese classicist Joseph Haydn, as well as the cello concert in C-major, recorded in the gold fund of world cello literature, in which Fridrich Thiele is invited as a soloist. Along with the classical repertoire, the orchestra will introduce the European audience to Baltic music - the diurnal opus "Elongations of Nights" by Lithuanian composer Justė Janulytė, as well as the contemplative picturesque miniature "Un pār visu spīd saule trejkrāsaina..." by Latvian classicist Maija Einfelde.
The concert is organized by the Hamburg-based young talent support fund TONALi in cooperation with the international artist agency Harrisson Parrott.
