Līva Plociņa-Janova
First violin
Līva Plociņa-Janova studied violin performance in Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Secondary School with Inese Štrāle. In 2013 Līva obtained a Master’s degree from Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, where she studied violin performance under Juris Švolkovskis. The musician has also studied in Mannheim under professor Roman Nodel.
In 2013, as a part of a chamber ensemble, Līva received the Grand Prix of the chamber ensemble competition organised by the Riga Brotherhood of Blackheads, as well as 2nd place in the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music competition The Best Chamber Ensemble of JVLAM – in the same competition in 2010 and 2012 she has also reached first place.
In 2012 she performed a solo programme in collaboration with JVLAM Symphony Orchestra and the Norwegian conductor Rolf Gupta.
In addition to her work in the Chamber Orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga, Līva actively participates in different master classes and international youth orchestras.
Līva enjoys outdoor recreational activities and her latest hobby is Aerial Yoga.
