Māra Botmane

Cello

Māra Botmane begun her music studies in the Dobele Music School under Vita Embovica, later she continued in the Emīls Dārziņš Music School under Arvīds Tareila. Māra obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, studying under profesor Diana Ozoliņa, in 2013. During her studies Māra enriched her knowledge abroad, participating in ERASMUS student exchange program in The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, where she studied under professor Csaba Onczay. At the moment Māra is studying in the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt am Main's, under Jan Ickert.

Māra regularly participates in master classes with cello teachers in Germany and other countries.

As a soloist Māra has performed with the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra “Sinfonia Concertante”. She has participated in several international orchestra projects, for example, The Pärnu Music Festival orchestra, with the conductor Paavo Järvi, „Sommer Musik Akademie Hundisburg” and others.

Māra enjoys chamber music, performing with „Latvian Sound Quartet” in many concerts around Latvia and abroad, as well as participating in different chamber music projects.
