Ivo Krūskops
Percussion
Ivo began his musical endeavours by studying violin performance in the Emīls Dārziņš Music School. After four years of exploration, he realised that his true passion was hockey, however, instead of pursuing that, he switched specialisations and started studying percussion performance under Pēteris Šāvējs. Music school was followed by studies in the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, and during his time there he also began working in the Latvian National Opera and Ballet as an orchestra musician.
Since 2003 Ivo is the principal percussionist of the LNOB Symphony Orchestra. In 2008 he began working for the State Chamber Orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga as a percussionist. Outside his regular work Ivo also participates in a wide variety of musical projects from classical music to jazz. Ivo has performed all over the world (Mexico, Hong Kong, Russia, Europe) both as an orchestra musician and a soloist. His hobbies are not doing anything and playing amateur hockey.
